April 29, 2026 <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />Council Member Schwab advised that he is looking forward to the upcoming potential transit <br />merger presentation. <br /> <br />Council Member Weir thanked City staff, the Cultural Arts Commissioners, and the Village <br />Theater staff for their work on the Wendt & Mayor’s Arts Awards, reported on her attendance at <br />Downtown Everett’s Association’s Planting Day and the ribbon cutting of KRB Concepts. She also <br />advised that Friday is the Sip & Shop and First Friday with the Downtown Everett Association. <br /> <br />Council Member Burbano reporting on his attendance at the Worker’s Memorial Day event and <br />advised that on May 2nd there will be showing of the short film Bike Love. <br /> <br />Council Member Tuohy reported on her attendance at the SNO911 Board retreat. <br /> <br />Vice President Rhyne provided kudos to the City of Everett for being the first adopters of the “1% <br />For the Arts” program, suggested reconvening the Transit Exploratory Committee and a <br />suggested a community listening session. She also requests that if a merger is proposed that <br />relevant city boards and commissions can provide recommendations to Council on any proposal <br />that is suggested. She also congratulated the Silvertips on becoming the Western Conference <br />Champions. <br /> <br /> <br />ADMINISTRATION UPDATE <br /> <br />Government Affairs Director Jennifer Gregerson provided information on the EMS Levy “Pro” <br />Committee nominees. <br /> <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY <br /> <br />City Attorney David Hall provided an update on illicit massage businesses. He has been working <br />with other jurisdictions and organizations, such as the Association of Washington Cities to create <br />an effective set of regulations to be presented to Council in an ordinance in a few weeks. <br /> <br /> <br />CONSENT ITEMS: <br /> <br />Moved by Council Member Zarlingo, seconded by Council Member Tuohy, to approve the <br />following consent items: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION - CLAIMS <br />
