A.5 <br /> PROPOSi D AT i N'73T,:ENTS TO COUNCIL BILL NO. <br /> entitled "An ordinance providing for the licensing and regulating <br /> of the traffic in intoxicating liquor in the city of Everett, <br /> providing penalties for violation ther"of, repealing all ordinances <br /> in conflict herewith, and declaring an emergency". <br /> I move the amendment of the above entitled ordinance in <br /> the following respects: <br /> 1st: Of Section 5 by adding another paragraph, as fol- <br /> lows: "No wholesale liquor license shall ever be granted to any <br /> corporation if any of its officers or stockholders are within any <br /> of the prohibited classes mentioned in this section". <br /> 2nd: Section 7 by inserting a third paragraph, as fol- <br /> lows: "A. corporation desiring ,a wholesale liquor license shall file <br /> an application in writing, and said application shall be sworn to <br /> by its president and attested by its secretary, and shall state <br /> the names of said stockholders and officers, and shall state that <br /> none of its stockholders or officers have ever been convicted of <br /> violating the liquor laws of any city, state or country, and shall <br /> state by street number the room where said business is to be con- <br /> ducted. Said application shall be accompanied by a check, as is <br /> required in case of other applications for license. After filing said <br /> application the same proceedings shall be had thereon and with the <br /> same effect as in case of other applications for liquor license. <br /> 3rd: Section 8, by adding thereto the following: "and <br /> upon filing a surety bond in the sum of one hundred MOO) dollars, <br /> conditioned that he will faithfully comply with the provisions of <br /> this ordinance". <br /> 4th: Section 15 , by adding the following: "No closed <br /> boxes shall ever be permitted in any saloon. " <br /> 5th: Section 22, by adding the words"or employee" after <br /> the word "dealer" in the second line, and also in the fifth line. <br />
