" <br /> said time to offer such dog for sale, for the payment of said tax <br /> and fine, and in case of failure to obtain a purchas ,bf the full <br /> payment of sail tax and fine, it shall be the duty of the Chief <br /> of Police, or person appointed) as aforesaid to immediately kill <br /> such log : provided, that if a dog so sold is not to be kept in <br /> the City of Everet. , the purchaser of such dog shall not be re- <br /> quired to pay the license foe herein provided. <br /> Section 5.- The owner of any dog impounded may redeem <br /> the same within forty-eight hours by paying to the Chief of Police <br /> the prescribed license tax together with a penalty of one dollar <br /> ( $1.00 ) impounding fee. <br /> Section 6 . - It shall be the duty of the Chief of Police <br /> to see that a complete record is kept of all dogs impounded, and <br /> of all moneys received in connection with the said pound. Said <br /> record shall show the names and residences of all persons redeem- <br /> ing dogs, and date of redemption, also a list of the names and <br /> addresses of all persons to whom such licenses are issued, with <br /> the number, character, and date of expiration of the license iss- <br /> ued to each person. <br /> Section 7. I : any owner or keeper of any dog shall permit <br /> such dog to wear a collar and license tag without the license fee <br /> having been paid and license procured, he shall be deemed guilty <br /> of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be punished <br /> as hereinafter provided. <br /> Section 8. It shall he unlawful for any person or persons <br /> to attempt to prevent or hinder the Chief of Police, or any other <br /> officer or person appointed as aforesaid, from carryiying ouf the <br /> provisions of this ordinance. <br /> r <br />
