1 <br /> 2 C E 8 2 1S)'GNJNG RTF <br /> 3 8-21 PERMANENT SIGNING <br /> 4 <br /> 5 8-21.1 Description <br /> 6 <br /> 7 Permanent signing shall be installed in accordance with Section 8-21 of the Standard <br /> 8 Specifications with the following modifications: <br /> 9 <br /> 10 Traffic regulatory signs shall be installed in accordance with Everett Standard Plan 716. <br /> 11 Street name signs shall be installed in accordance with Everett Standard Plan 715 or <br /> 12 717 and 718 as indicated on the plans. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 8-21.2 Materials <br /> 15 <br /> 16 This section is revised to read: <br /> 17 <br /> 18 All signs shown in the plans with a mounting height of 14 feet and below shall be <br /> 19 manufactured with a protective overlay film. The protective overlay film shall be a <br /> 20 transparent, self adhesive film that is solvent resistant and approved for use by the <br /> 21 reflective sheeting manufacturer. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 8-21.3 Construction Requirements <br /> 24 <br /> 25 8-21.3(4) Sign Removal <br /> 26 <br /> 27 This section is revised to read: <br /> 28 <br /> 29 Where shown in the Plans or ordered by the Engineer, the existing signs and, if so <br /> 30 indicated, the sign structures shall be removed by the Contractor. Where <br /> 31 indicated, the Contractor shall remove concrete pedestals to a minimum of 1 foot <br /> 32 below finished grade and backfill the hole to the satisfaction of the Engineer. <br /> 33 Where an existing sign post is located within a sidewalk area, the Contractor shall <br /> 34 remove the post and finish the area to make the sidewalk continuous. Wood signs, <br /> 35 wood sign posts, wood structures, metal sign posts, windbeams, and other metal <br /> 36 structural members shall become the property of the Contractor and shall be <br /> 37 removed from the project.
