CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS 111 BID ITEM A-10 & B-10: GRINDING/PLANING BITUMINOUS PAVEMENT Measurement and Payment: Unit Price per Square Yard The unit Contract price per square yard for Planing Bituminous Pavement shall be full payment for all costs incurred to perform the Work described in Section 5-04.3(14). BID ITEM A-11 & B-11: TRENCH EXCAVATION SAFETY SYSTEMS Measurement and Payment: Lump Sum The lump sum bid item includes full compensation for safety system for trenches and all other excavations including, but not limited to, shoring, benching, bracing, excavation, sheeting, and trench box. This Work shall be accomplished in accordance with Divisions 1, 2, 7, and 8 of the Standard Specifications and Special Provisions. Payment per lump sum includes all equipment, materials, labor, installation, and removal, and all other work required to meet the trench excavation and safety system requirements. Measurement for trench excavation safety systems shall be the ratio of pipe installed and backfilled to the total quantity of pipe listed in the Proposal. ' BID ITEM A-12 & B-12: ROADWAY EXCAVATION INCLUDING HAUL Measurement and Payment: Unit Price per Cubic Yard. The unit price per cubic yard for roadway excavation, including haul, shall be full compensation for all costs incurred for excavating, removing, loading, hauling, and disposing of the materials. Also to be included in this bid item shall be the cost of grader work, or any other equipment required to remove existing soils to attain proper elevations as defined by the Contract Documents. Costs for compaction of native subgrade material will be included in the unit contract price for Asphalt Treated Base (Bid Item No. A-15 & B-13), Crushed Surfacing Top Course (Bid Item A-16 & B-14), Crushed Surface Base Course (Bid Item No. A-17 & B-15), and Gravel Borrow Including Haul (Bid Item No.A-18 & B-16). The cost of removing existing pavement surfaces and haul and disposal is incidental and shall be included in the unit price for this bid item. Roadway excavation will be measured by the cubic yard of material in-place and will be based on the calculated volume of material from the bottom of the below proposed surfaces to the top of the existing surface being removed.
