BID ITEM A-42 & B-38: CEMENT CONCRETE SIDEWALK, 4-INCH THICKNESS Measurement and Payment: Unit Price per Square Yard The unit price per square yard of Cement Concrete Sidewalk, 4-Inch Thick and Cement Concrete Sidewalk, Driveway and Alley Approach, 6-Inch thick shall be full compensation for replacement or installation of concrete sidewalk, driveway or alley approach impacted by construction activities and/or where shown on the Contract Plans in accordance with the Contract Documents. The costs of removing existing sidewalks, haul and disposal, and constructing pedestrian curbs associated with curb ramps and sidewalk construction are incidental in the unit price for this bid item. ' Measurement shall be per square yard as delineated by the Contractor and approved by the Inspector prior to removal. Deductions will be made for blocked out areas, castings, or other discontinuities in the sidewalk, which are 9 square feet or larger. ' Gravel borrow to be used as fill for sidewalk subgrade will be measured and paid for separately in accordance with other applicable Contract bid items. ' The cost of sawcutting concrete sidewalk is incidental and shall be included in the unit price for this bid item. ' The unit contract price for this Bid item shall include all costs for the work required to construct the sidewalk as specified, including the earth work required to excavate excess material to achieve design subgrade elevations.
