I <br /> 1 take down these signs, posts, or supports. All signs, posts, and supports shall be <br /> 2 removed from the project and shall remain the property of the Contractor. <br /> 3 There shall be no separate classification of signs. All construction signs, whether used <br /> 4 throughout the construction, during a major phase of construction or removed daily shall <br /> I 5 be paid under the item "Project Temporary Traffic Control". Portable or temporary <br /> 6 mountings may require added weight for stability. If it is necessary to add weight to the <br /> 7 signs, only a bag of sand that will rupture on impact shall be used. The bag of sand <br /> I 8 shall have a maximum weight of 40 pounds and shall be suspended no more than 1' <br /> 9 from the ground. <br /> 10 The work to provide the construction signing shall be: <br /> 11 1. Furnishing all construction signs. <br /> 12 2. Furnishing, removing, and disposing of the posts or supports for the signs. <br /> 13 3. Initial installation and subsequent removal of all construction signs. <br /> I 14 4. Furnishing labor and materials for maintaining the signs in a clean and <br /> 15 presentable condition; <br /> 16 5. All other incidentals necessary for providing the construction signs according to <br /> 17 the approved traffic control plan(s). <br /> 18 Signs, posts, or supports that are lost, stolen, destroyed, or which the Engineer deems <br /> 19 to be unacceptable, while their use is required on the project, shall be replaced by the <br /> 20 Contractor without additional compensation. <br /> I 21 <br /> 22 <br /> 23 1-10.4 Measurement <br /> I 24 <br /> 25 Section 1-10.4 is modified to read as follows: <br /> 26 <br /> I 27 When the bid proposal does not include an item for any necessary traffic control, all <br /> 28 costs for traffic control shall be included, by the Contractor, in the unit contract price for <br /> 29 the various other items of work in the bid proposal. The Contractor shall estimate these <br /> I 30 costs based on the contemplated work procedures. <br /> 31 When traffic control items are included in the bid proposal, payment is limited to the <br /> 32 following areas: <br /> 33 1. The entire project area under the contract and for a distance to include the initial <br /> I34 warning signs for the beginning of the project and the end of construction. <br /> 35 Warning signs for side roads on the approved traffic control plan are also <br /> 36 included. If the project consists of two or more sections, the limits will apply to <br /> 37 each section individually. <br /> 38 2. A detour provided in the plans or approved by the Engineer for by-passing all or <br /> 39 any portion of the construction, irrespective of whether or not the termini of the <br /> I 40 detour are within the limits of the contract. <br /> 41 The provisions of Section 1-04.6 will not apply to any traffic control or traffic control <br /> 42 items.
