1 2 When the bid proposal includes an item for"Project Temporary Traffic Control", the work 3 required for this item shall be that described in Section 1-10 and including: 4 1. Furnish and maintain signs, cones, barricades, flasher, and other 5 channelization devices; 6 2. Provide supervisory personnel for all labor for traffic control; 7 3. Provide labor and any necessary vehicle(s) for set-up and removal of 8 construction signs and the traffic control devices which are placed daily; 9 4. Provide labor and vehicles for patrolling and maintaining in position all of the 10 construction signs and the traffic control devices; 11 5. Provide labor, material, and equipment necessary for flagging, cleaning up, 12 removing and replacing all construction signs and traffic control devices that 13 are destroyed, damaged or lost during the life of the project; 14 6. Provide flagging or use of police officers for the convenience of the 15 Contractor, such as facilitating movement of equipment on the site, laying out 16 or relocating traffic control devices and signs. 17 18 Upon failure of the Contractor to immediately provide flaggers, erect, maintain, and 19 remove signs; or provide, erect, maintain, and remove other traffic control devices when 20 ordered to do so by the Engineer, the City may without further notice to the Contractor or 21 the surety, perform any of the above and deduct all of the costs from the Contractor's 22 payments. 23 24 The Contractor shall be responsible for providing adequate flaggers, signs, and other 25 traffic control devices for the protection of the worker and the public at all times 26 regardless of whether or not the flaggers, signs, and other traffic control devices are 27 ordered by the Engineer, or paid for by the City.
