r 1 Division 2 2 Earthwork 3 4 Clearing, Grubbing, and Roadside Cleanup I 5 6 Section 2-01 is supplemented with the following: 7 8 (******) 9 Selective Tree Removal 10 Ii 1 Preparation of a Tree Removal Plan 12 The Contractor shall prepare and implement a project-specific Tree Removal Plan. The 13 Contractor shall submit the plan to the Owner's Representative no later than the date of the 14 preconstruction conference. No on-site construction activities may commence until the Owner's 15 Representative accepts a Tree Removal Plan for the project. The Tree Removal Plan shall 16 describe the schedule, process, and procedures for the removal of each individual tree to be 17 removed as shown on the Plans. The Tree Removal Plan shall identify and demonstrate how 18 the Contractor will complete the work in accordance with the ANSI requirements referenced in 19 this section. The Plan shall specifically identify equipment, devices, cranes, or special rigging 20 that will be used. The Plan shall identify project-specific work procedures that the Contractor 21 will follow to protect the safety of climbers, non-involved workers, public, staff, and property. 22 The plan shall include the identification of drop zones, the location of planned retreat/escape 23 paths, on-site log storage areas, and the Contractor's plans for loading and disposing of logs ' 24 and associated debris. 25 26 Tree Removal 27 Tree removal work shall be performed under the direction of a qualified arborist and shall be 28 conducted by experienced climbers and equipment operators. Tree removal work shall conform 29 to ANSI Z133.1 — Safety Requirements for Arboricultural Operations. 30 31 Pruning 32 If the Contractor determines that it is necP8sary to prune trees or Chrl Ills to minimize damage to 33 remaining vegetation or safely conduct tree removal, pruning work shall conform to ANSI A300 34 (Part 1) — Pruning. 35 36 Tree Disposal 37 Tree disposal shall be in accordance with 2-01.2. 38 39 40 Disposal of Usable Material and Debris 41 42 The second paragraph of Section 2-01.2 is deleted and replaced with the following: 43 44 (******) 45 Contractor shall dispose of all debris by one or more of the disposal methods described 46 below.
