Disposal of Suitable Material in Habitat Berm 15 Suitable shall be all excavated material not defined as unsuitable, as identified by 16 Owner's Representative. Suitable material excavated from the channel and 17 breaches shall be disposed by placement onsite within the habitat berm placement 18 areas. Material shall be compacted and shaped using an excavator bucket so that it 19 conforms to the lines and grades shown on the plans. The maximum deviation of the 20 final surface elevations shall not be greater than 0.5 feet. 21 22 Habitat berm extents are approximate and may be adjusted by the Owner's 23 Representative to accommodate material placement. 24 25 2-08.4 Measurement 26 "Channel Excavation" will be measured by the linear foot of channel, measured along the 27 centerline of the channel. 28 29 "Breach Excavation" will be measured by the cubic yard. All excavated material will be 30 measured in the position it occupied before the excavation was performed. An original ground 31 measurement will be taken using cross-section or digital terrain modeling survey techniques. 32 For beach excavation, the original ground will be compared with the planned finished section 33 shown in the Plans. Slope/ground intercept points defining the limits of the measurement will be 34 as staked. 3 35 36 "Ditch Block" no measurement shall be made. 37 38 "Unsuitable Material Disposal" will be measured per ton in the hauling vehicle. 39 40 41 2-08.5 Payment 42 Payment will be made in accordance with Section 1-04.1, for each of the following Bid items that 43 are included in the Proposal: 44 45 Unit Contract Price for "Channel Excavation" shall be full pay for all costs incurred for work to 46 excavate Channels 1, 2, and 3 as shown in the Plans and to dispose of suitable excavated 47 materials within the habitat berm placement areas, including onsite handling, haul, loading, 48 placing, grading or otherwise disposing of the material.
