1 173-201A, project permits, environmental commitments, these Specifications and shall be <br /> 2 sufficiently protective of fish and other aquatic wildlife. Water Control shall occur after Fish <br /> 3 Exclusion for that particular reach or area. <br /> 4 <br /> 5 The Contractor shall develop and submit a Temporary Water Control Plan for review and ' <br /> 6 approval by Owner's Representative at least 7 days in advance of water control activities. <br /> 7 Provide the Owner's Representative with a minimum of 5 days advance notice of the start of <br /> 8 each unique water control activity. <br /> 9 <br /> 10 Water control shall allow flows to bypass the construction area, shall allow for removal of <br /> 11 surface water, groundwater and other water entering the construction area, and shall protect <br /> 12 adjacent waters from turbidity and other water quality disturbances caused by construction. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 Any pumps used in the diversion/dewatering system shall be placed in flat areas a sufficient <br /> 15 distance from the channel and adequately secured (by anchoring to a tree or stake or similar). <br /> 16 Pump intakes will be covered with 1/8-inch mesh to prevent entrainment of fish or amphibians, <br /> 17 and shall be checked periodically for impingement of fish and amphibians. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 Pumping shall not be continuous and shall only be allowed during regular work hours as defined <br /> 20 in the Contract. Pumps shall not be unattended and shall be shut down when the work site is <br /> 21 not occupied by the Contractor. ' <br /> 22 <br /> 23 Treat and contain water as needed to adequately remove suspended sediment prior to disposal. <br /> 24 Dispose of water in an environmentally acceptable manner, in accordance with project permits, <br /> 25 applicable law, and such that property is not damaged. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 As a contingency, maintain at the site sufficient backup equipment as needed to ensure that <br /> 28 stream flows will be diverted at all times. Contractor shall have a contingency plan for possible <br /> 29 malfunction or failure of equipment such as pumps, plugs, piping and power source. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 Schedule all activities to minimize the length of time during which the dewatering and flow <br /> 32 diversion will be nacaccary, to minimize impacts to aquatic resources. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 Temporary Water Control Plan <br /> 35 Plan shall include a narrative and drawings as needed to explain the following: <br /> 36 1. Description and location of water control <br /> 37 2. Schedule and sequence ' <br /> 38 a. Fish Exclusion Protocol Plan <br /> 39 b. Installation <br /> 40 c. Maintenance <br /> 41 3. List of Materials and Equipment <br /> 42 4. Methods <br /> 43 5. Contingency Plans <br /> 44 <br /> 45 <br /> 46 Seeding, Fertilizing and Mulching <br /> 47 <br /> 48 Section 8-01.3(2)A is supplemented with the following: <br /> 49 <br /> RIVERFRONT DEVELOPMENT NORTH WETLAND COMPLEX 110 <br />
