I
1 8. WSDOT/APWA Standard Specifications for Road, Bridge, and Municipal
I 2 Construction,
3 9. Contracting Agency's Standard Plans (if any), and
4 10. WSDOT/APWA Standard Plans for Road, Bridge and Municipal Construction.
I 5
6 On the contract plans, working drawings, and standard plans, figured dimensions shall
7 take precedence over scaled dimensions.
I 8 This order of precedence shall not apply when work is required by one part of the
9 contract but omitted from another part or parts of the contract. The work required in one
10 part must be furnished even if not mentioned in other parts of the contract.
I 11 If any part of the contract requires work that does not include a description for how the
12 work is to be performed, the work shall be performed in accordance with standard trade
13 practice(s). For purposes of the contract, a standard trade practice is one having such
I 14 regularity of observance in the trade as to justify an expectation that it will be observed
15 by the Contractor in doing the work.
16
17 In case of any ambiguity or dispute over interpreting the contract, the Engineer's
I 18 decision will be final as provided in Section 1-05.2.
19
20 1-04.3 Specifications and Drawings
I 21
22 Section 1-04.3 Specifications and Drawings is added as follows:
23
I 24 1-04.3(1) Interpretation of Specifications and Drawings
25
26 The Specifications and drawings are intended to be explanatory and supportive of each
I, 27 other. Work specified on the drawings and not in the Specifications, or vice versa, shall
28 be executed as if specified in both. In the event the Work to be done or matters relative
29 thereto are not sufficiently detailed or explained in the Contract Documents, the
30 Contractor shall immediately ask the Owner's Representative for further explanation and
31 shall comply with such explanation. In the event of doubt or question arising respecting
32 the true meaning of the Specifications or drawings, Contractor shall refer to the Owner's
I 33 Representative for its decision.
34
35 1-04.3(2) Division of Specifications and Drawings
36
I 37 Specifications and drawings are divided into groups for convenience. These divisions
38 are not for the purpose of apportioning Work or responsibility for Work among
39 subcontractors, suppliers and manufacturers. The Contractor is responsible for all Work
I 40 shown or described, regardless of location(s) in the Contract Documents.
41
42 1-04.3(3) Discrepancies in Specifications and Drawings
i43 1-04.3(3)(A) Errors and Omissions
44 If the Contractor becomes aware of any errors or omissions in the Contract Documents
45 or in the Owner's field work, it shall immediately inform the Owner's Representative in
I46 writing. The Owner's Representative will promptly review the matter and if it finds an
47 error or omission has been made; it will determine the corrective actions and advise the
48 Contractor accordingly. If the corrective work associated with an error or omission
I 49 increases or decreases the amount of work called for in the Contract, the Owner will
50 issue an appropriate Change Order. After discovery by the Contractor of an error or
51 omission, related work performed by the Contractor shall be done at its risk unless
I52 authorized by the Owner's Representative and approved by the Owner.
IRIVERFRONT DEVELOPMENT NORTH WETLAND COMPLEX 17
