I <br /> 1 1-05.18(2) Construction Procedures <br /> 2 <br /> 3 The Contractor shall supervise and direct the work and determine the means, methods, <br /> 4 techniques, sequences and procedures of construction, except in those instances where <br /> 5 the Owner, to define the quality of an item of work, specifies in the Contract, a means, <br /> 6 method, technique, sequence or procedure for construction of that item of work. <br /> 7 <br /> 8 1-05.18(3) Responsibilities <br /> 9 <br /> 10 1-05.18(3)(A) Subcontractors, Manufacturers and Suppliers <br /> 11 The Contractor shall be responsible for the adequacy, efficiency and sufficiency of <br /> 12 subcontractors, manufacturers, suppliers and their employees. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 The contractor must verify responsibility criteria for each first tier subcontractor, and a <br /> 15 subcontractor of any tier that hires other subcontractors must verify responsibility criteria for <br /> 16 each of its subcontractors. At the time of subcontract execution, the contractor must verify <br /> 17 that each of its first tier subcontractors meets the following bidder responsibility criteria: <br /> 18 <br /> 19 (a) At the time of subcontract bid submittal, have a certificate of registration in <br /> 20 compliance with Chapter 18.27 RCW; <br /> 21 (b) Have a current state unified business identifier number; I <br /> 22 (c) If applicable, have: <br /> 23 (i) Industrial insurance coverage for the subcontractor's employees working <br /> 24 in Washington as required in Title 51 RCW; <br /> 25 (ii) An employment security department number as required in Title 50 RCW' <br /> 26 (iii) A state excise tax registration number as required in Title 82 RCW; <br /> 27 (iv) An electrical contractor license, if required by Chapter 19.28 RCW; <br /> 28 (v) An elevator contractor license, if required by Chapter 70.87 RCW. <br /> 29 (d) Not be disqualified from bidding on any public works contract under RCW <br /> 30 39.06.010 or 39.12.065(3). <br /> 31 <br /> 32 1-05.18(3)(B) Contractor's Employees <br /> 33 The Contractor shall be responsible for the adequacy, efficiency and sufficiency of its <br /> 34 employees. Workers shall have sufficient knowledge, skill and experience to perform <br /> 35 properly the work assigned to them. <br /> 36 <br /> 37 1-05.18(3)(C) Payment for Labor and Materials <br /> 38 The Contractor shall pay and require its subcontractors to pay any and all accounts for <br /> 39 labor including Worker's Compensation premiums, State Unemployment and Federal <br /> 40 Social Security payments and other wage and salary deductions required by law. The <br /> 41 Contractor also shall pay and cause its subcontractors to pay any and all accounts for <br /> 42 services, Equipment, and materials used by him and its subcontractors during the <br /> 43 performance of work under this Contract. The Contractor shall pay such accounts as <br /> 44 they become due and payable. If requested by the Owner, the Contractor shall promptly <br /> 45 furnish proof of payment of such accounts to the Owner. <br /> 46 <br /> 47 1-05.18(3)(D) Attention to Work <br /> 48 The Contractor, acting through its representative, shall give personal attention to and <br /> 49 shall manage the work so that it shall be prosecuted faithfully and completed under the <br /> 50 Project schedule. When its representative is not personally present at the Project site, I <br /> 51 its designated alternate shall be available and shall have the authority to act in matters <br /> 52 relating to this Contract. <br /> 53 <br /> RIVERFRONT DEVELOPMENT NORTH WETLAND COMPLEX 36 <br />
