I 1 the vicinity of the work and to reasonably protect persons and property. No roads or 2 street shall be closed to the public except with the permission of the Owner's 3 Representative and the proper governmental authority. Fire hydrants on or adjacent to 4 the work shall be accessible to fire fighting Equipment. Temporary provisions shall be 5 made by the Contractor for the use of sidewalks, private and public driveways and 6 proper functioning of gutters, sewer inlets, drainage ditches and culverts, irrigation 7 ditches and natural water courses. 8 i 9 1-05.19 Owner-Contractor Coordination 10 11 1-05.19(1) Suggestions to Contractor111 12 Nothing in these Contract Documents requires the Owner's Representative to provide 13 the Contractor with direction or advice on how to do the work, construction practices, or 14 means and methods. If the Owner's Representative approves, suggests or recommends 15 any construction practice, means, method or manner for doing the work or producing 16 materials, the approval or recommendation shall not: (A) guarantee that following the 17 method or manner will result in compliance with the Contract Documents; (B) relieve the 18 Contractor of any risks or obligations under the Contract Documents; or (C) create any 111 19 liability by the Owner to the Contractor. 20 21 Suggestions as to the plans or methods of accomplishing the work or Contract 22 requirements by the Owner or the Owner's Representative to the Contractor but not 23 specified or required, if adopted or followed by the Contractor in whole or in part, shall be 24 used at the risk and responsibility of the Contractor. The Owner and the Owner's 25 Representative assume no responsibility therefore and in no way will be held liable for 26 any defects in the work which may result from or be caused by use of such plan or 27 method or work. 28 29 1-05.19(2) Meetings with Owner 30 31 The Contractor shall have its duly authorized representative attend periodic informational 32 meetings with the Owner's Representative and City staff, as reasonably required by the 33 Owner. 34 35 Contractor, Owner, and Owner's Representative shall meet as often as determined by 36 the Owner's Representative, but no less often than once each month. The purpose of 37 the meeting is to review Project status in relation to the construction schedule; review 38 value of work completed during the previous month; and, if applicable, review 39 Contractor's plans to return Project status to that required by the schedule. If requested 40 by the Owner or Owner's Representative, the Contractor shall submit a written progress I 41 report within five (5) days following this meeting, comprising: 42 1. The current construction schedule indicating percent complete, actual 43 completion or start dates since the previous review, the estimated remaining 44 duration for each activity in progress, Schedule of Values update, and narrative 111 45 summary. 46 2. Reasons any activities are behind schedule and the corrective steps being 11 47 taken. 48 49 1-05.19(3) Cooperation with Others 50 51 The Contractor agrees to permit entry to the site of the work by the Owner, its employees or other 52 contractors performing work on behalf of the Owner.
