GENERAL PRODUCT REQUIREMENTS: Provide products that comply with contract <br /> documents,that are undamaged and,unless otherwise indicated,unused at the time of <br /> installation. <br /> 1 1. Provide products complete with all accessories,trim, fmish, safety guards and <br /> other devices and details needed for a complete installation and for the intended <br /> use and effect. <br /> 2. STANDARD PRODUCTS: Where available,provide standard products of types <br /> that have been produced and used successfully in similar situations on other <br /> project. <br /> B. PRODUCT SELECTION PROCEDURES: Product selection is governed by contract <br /> documents and governing regulations,not by previous project experience. Procedures <br /> governing product selection include the following: <br /> 1. PROPRIETARY SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Where only a single <br /> product or manufacturer is named, followed by"no equal", "no substitution", "or <br /> no exception",provide the product indicated. Advise Architect when it is <br /> discovered that the named product is not a feasible solution. <br /> 2. SEMIPROPRIETARY SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Where two or <br /> more products or manufacturers are named, followed by"no equals", "no <br /> substitutions", or"no exception",provide one of the products named. Advise <br /> Architect when none of the named products comply with specification <br /> I <br /> 3. requirements, or are not feasible for use. <br /> NON-PROPRIETARY SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Where the <br /> specifications name products or manufacturers that are indicative of the type and <br /> quality of the product to be incorporated in the work,followed by the term"or <br /> equal", or similar language,comply with the contract documents provisions <br /> concerning"product substitutions" to obtain approval for use of an unnamed <br /> I <br /> 4. product. <br /> DESCRIPTIVE SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Where the specifications <br /> describe a product or assembly defining the characteristics required,but with or <br /> without use of a brand or trade name,provide products or assemblies that provide <br /> the characteristics indicated and otherwise comply with contract requirements. <br /> 5. PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Where specifications <br /> require compliance with performance requirements,provide products that <br /> comply with these requirements,which are recommended by the manufacturer <br /> for the application indicated. Submit manufacturer's recommendations contained <br /> in published product literature, or by the manufacturer's individual certification <br /> of performance for approval by Architect. General overall performance of a <br /> product is implied where the product is specified for specific application. <br /> 6. VISUAL MATCHING: Where matching an established sample is required,the <br /> ' owners decision will be final on whether a proposed product matches <br /> satisfactorily. <br /> a. Where there is no product available within the specified product category <br /> which matches satisfactorily and also complies with other specified <br /> requirements; comply with the provisions of the contract documents <br /> concerning "substitutions" for the selection of a matching product in <br /> another product category. <br /> SUBSTITUTION PROCEDURES 01 2500-3 <br /> I <br />
