Previous comment: Where the drywall has been removed and the assemblies are <br /> exposed, tested assemblies should be shown on the drawings should be targeted to the <br /> plans and sections to show minimum one hour horizontal and vertical separation of <br /> units, including sound isolation, per IBC sections 708.1 and 1207. <br /> a. Some samples of tested assemblies are attached for your reference. Please <br /> locate and include the appropriate tested assembly on the drawings for floor and <br /> wall occupancy separations. <br /> b. Where possible, please show tested assemblies that meet or approach the sound <br /> separation requirements of STC 50 for walls and IIC 50 for floors, per IBC <br /> section 1207. <br /> c. A detail of the floor ceiling assembly testing requirements should be shown on <br /> the drawings for the separation of living units. The section should reference a <br /> one hour tested assembly, which will require an additional layer of Type X <br /> drywall (typically 5/8'x, where insulation is added for sound, per the GA-600- <br /> 2006 Fire Resistance Design Manual general explanatory notes (11), attached. <br /> 2. The specific location of the R-49 insulation should be shown on the drawings for <br /> both the new and existing roof, or the note on sheet A-3.0 should be much more <br /> specific in regards to the scope. <br /> b. Roof Venting details on the drawings show a weather resistant baffle, one inch <br /> minimum air space, and vent with the insulation at the roof eave or gable, at <br /> locations where new framing is location, and where existing framing will have <br /> new insulation installed. <br /> 3. Previous comment., The maximum clear opening of the new guard should not let a 4 <br /> inch sphere pass, per IBC section 1013.4. <br /> 4. Previous comment., A graspable handrail, meeting the minimum requirements of the <br /> IPMC and IFC, should be shown on the drawings as new, at all existing stairs with more <br /> than two risers, at least on one side of the stair run, where a new handrail is being <br /> installed, per IBC section 1012.3. <br /> a. The height of new handrails should be dimensioned on the details, per IBC <br /> section 1012.2. <br /> b. Handrail extensions should be shown on the drawings at new handrails, per IBC <br /> section 1012.6. <br /> 5. Previous comment., Please include a door schedule with new and existing doors where <br /> hardware is being replaced, or where doors are new or replaced due to fire or water <br /> damage.
