All concrete signal poles, I6 luminaires, and other equipment not listed above shall be the property of the 7 contractor and removed from the project. 8 1 9 The Contractor shall: 10 11 Remove all wires for discontinued circuits from the conduit system. I 12 13 Remove elbow sections of abandoned conduit entering junction boxes. 14 I 15 Abandoned conduit encountered during excavation shall be removed to the 16 nearest outlets or as directed by the Engineer. 17 I 18 Remove foundations entirely, unless the Plans state otherwise. 19 20 Backfill voids created by removal of foundations and junction boxes. 21 Backfilling and compaction shall be performed in accordance with Section 2- ' 22 23 09.3(1)E. 24 I 25 041111'03 0011 TAlittiONB,OXRT05 26 Junction Boxes, Cable Vaults, and Pull boxes 27 Section 8-20.3(6) is supplemented with the following: I 28 29 Standard Duty pull boxes, cable vaults and concrete junction boxes installed in 30 sidewalks, walkways and shared use paths shall have slip resistant surfaces, be I 31 flush with surface and match grade of the sidewalk, walkway and shared use path. 32 The boxes, vaults and junction boxes shall not be placed in curb ramps, curb ramp 33 landings, or the gutter areas associated with the curb ramps. The adjustment operations shall be conducted to I 40 41 prevent damage to any conduits. All parts or materials damaged as a result of the Contractor's operations shall be replaced at no expense to the Contracting Agency. 42 43 If the junction box is removed and reset, the patch material used around the 44 junction box shall be the same as the adjacent pavement. For asphalt concrete 45 pavement roadways, junction boxes located in the traveled way shall be adjusted 46 to final grade after final paving in accordance with Section 5-04.3(13).
