I
I
1 descriptions of two additional primary control points for every additional three miles of
2 project length. Primary control points will be described by reference to the project I 3 alignment and the coordinate system and elevation datum utilized by the project. In
4 addition, the Contracting Agency will supply horizontal coordinates for the beginning
5 and ending points and for each Point of Intersection (PI) on each alignment included in
I
6 the project.
7
8 The Contractor shall ensure a surveying accuracy within the following tolerances:
9
10 Vertical Horizontal
11 Slope stakes ±0.10 feet ±0.10 feet
12 Subgrade grade stakes set
I
13 0.04 feet below grade ±0.01 feet ±0.5 feet
14 (parallel to alignment)
15 ±0.1 feet
I
16 (normal to alignment)
17
18 Stationing on roadway N/A ±0.1 feet I 19 Alignment on roadway N/A ±0.04 feet
20 Surfacing grade stakes ±0.01 feet ±0.5 feet
21 (parallel to alignment) I 22 ±0.1 feet
23 (normal to alignment)
24 I 25 Roadway paving pins for
26 surfacing or paving ±0.01 feet ±0.2 feet
27 (parallel to alignment)
28 ±0.1 feet
29 (normal to alignment)
30
31 The Contracting Agency may spot-check the Contractor's surveying. These spotI
-
32 checks will not change the requirements for normal checking by the Contractor.
33
34 When staking roadway alignment and stationing, the Contractor shall perform
I
35 independent checks from different secondary control to ensure that the points staked
36 are within the specified survey accuracy tolerances.
37
I
38 The Contractor shall calculate coordinates for the alignment. The Contracting Agency
39 will verify these coordinates prior to issuing approval to the Contractor for commencing
40 with the work. The Contracting Agency will require up to seven calendar days from the I 41 date the data is received.
42
43 Contract work to be performed using contractor-provided stakes shall not begin until the
I
44 stakes are approved by the Contracting Agency. Such approval shall not relieve the
45 Contractor of responsibility for the accuracy of the stakes.
46
47 Stakes shall be marked in accordance with Standard Plan A10.10. When stakes are
I
48 needed that are not described in the Plans, then those stakes shall be marked, at no
49 additional cost to the Contracting Agency as ordered by the Engineer.
50
I
4151 STREET TO WMVD FREIGHT I CORRIDOR IMPROVEMENTS
FED AID#STPUL-9931(012);PW#3472 SP-24 February 10,2016
