1 1 <br /> 2 This Work shall include keeping the planted and seeded areas free from insect <br /> 3 infestation, weeds or unwanted vegetation, litter, and other debris along with retaining <br /> 4 the finished grades and mulch in a neat uniform condition. <br /> 5 <br /> 6 8-02.3(2) Roadside Work Plan I <br /> 7 This section's title is revised to read: <br /> 8 <br /> 9 Work Plans <br /> 10 <br /> 11 This section's content is deleted in its entirety and replaced with the following new <br /> 12 subsections: <br /> 13 <br /> 14 8-02.3(2)A Roadside Work Plan <br /> 15 Before starting any Work that disturbs the earth and as described in Sections 8-01, 8-02 <br /> 16 and 8-03, the Contractor shall submit a roadside work plan. The roadside work plan <br /> 17 shall be submitted as a Type 1 Working Drawing and shall define the Work necessary to <br /> 18 provide all Contract requirements, including: wetland excavation, soil preparation, <br /> 19 habitat structure placement, planting area preparation, seeding area preparation, bark <br /> 20 mulch and compost placement, seeding, planting, plant replacement, irrigation, and <br /> 21 weed control in narrative form. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 The Roadside Work Plan shall also include a copy of the approved progress schedule. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 8-02.3(2)B Weed and Pest Control Plan <br /> 26 The Weed and Pest Control Plan shall be submitted as a Type 1 Working Drawing. The <br /> 27 weed and pest control plan shall include scheduling and methods of all control <br /> 28 measures required under the Contract or proposed by the Contractor including soil <br /> 29 preparation methods to meet the required soil surface conditions in the planting, bark <br /> 30 mulch, and wetland areas. The weed control plan shall show general weed control <br /> 31 including hand, mechanical and chemical methods, timing, application of herbicides <br /> 32 including type, rate, use and timing, mowing, and noxious weed control. Target weeds <br /> 33 and unwanted vegetation to be removed shall be identified and listed in the weed <br /> 34 control plan. <br /> 35I <br /> 36 The plan shall be prepared and signed by a licensed Commercial Pest Control Operator <br /> 37 or Consultant when chemical pesticides are proposed. The plan shall include methods <br /> 38 of weed control; dates of weed control operations; and the name, application rate, and <br /> 39 Material Safety Data Sheets of all proposed herbicides. In addition, the Contractor shall <br /> 40 furnish the Engineer with a copy of the current product label for each pesticide and <br /> 41 spray adjuvant to be used. These product labels shall be submitted with the weed II <br /> 42 control plan for approval. <br /> 43 <br /> 44 8-02.3(2)C Plant Establishment Plan <br /> Il <br /> 45 The Plant Establishment Plan shall be prepared in accordance with the requirements of <br /> 46 Section 8-02.3(13) and submitted as a Type 1 Working Drawing. The Plan shall show <br /> 47 the proposed scheduling of activities, materials, equipment to be utilized for the first- <br /> 48 year plant establishment, and an emergency contact person. The Plan shall include the <br /> 49 management of the irrigation system, when applicable. Should the plan become <br /> 50 unworkable at any time during the first-year plant establishment, the Contractor shall <br /> 51 submit a revised plan prior to proceeding with further Work. <br /> 52 <br /> I <br /> AMENDMENTS TO THE 2014 STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS BOOK <br /> Revised: 8/3/15 <br />
