1 <br /> 1 <br /> 2 1-10.2(1)B Traffic Control Supervisor <br /> 3 The first paragraph is revised to read: <br /> 4 <br /> 5 A Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) shall be present on the project whenever flagging or <br /> 6 other traffic control labor is being utilized or less frequently, as authorized by the <br /> 7 Engineer. <br /> 8 <br /> 9 The last paragraph is revised to read: I <br /> 10 <br /> 11 The TCS may perform the Work described in Section 1-10.3(1)A Flaggers or in Section <br /> 12 1-10.3(1)B Other Traffic Control Labor and be compensated under those Bid items, <br /> 13 provided that the duties of the TCS are accomplished. <br /> 14 <br /> 15 1-10.2(2) Traffic Control Plans <br /> 16 The first paragraph is revised to read: <br /> 17 <br /> 18 The traffic control plan or plans appearing in the Contract documents show a method of <br /> 19 handling vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic. All construction signs, flaggers, and <br /> 20 other traffic control devices are shown on the traffic control plan(s) except for <br /> 21 emergency situations. If the Contractor proposes adding the use of flaggers to a plan, <br /> 22 this will constitute a modification requiring approval by the Engineer. The modified plans <br /> 23 shall show locations for all the required advance warning signs and a safe, protected <br /> 24 location for the flagging station. If flagging is to be performed during hours of darkness, <br /> 25 the plan shall include appropriate illumination for the flagging station. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 In the second paragraph, the second sentence is revised to read: <br /> 28 <br /> 29 Any Contractor-proposed modification, supplement or replacement shall show the <br /> 30 necessary construction signs, flaggers, and other traffic control devices required to <br /> 31 support the Work. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 1-10.2(3) Conformance to Established Standards <br /> 34 In the second paragraph, the second sentence is revised to read: <br /> 35 <br /> 36 The National Cooperative Highway Research Project (NCHRP) Report 350 and the <br /> 37 AASHTO Manual for Assessing Safety Hardware (MASH) have established <br /> 38 requirements for crash testing. <br /> 39 <br /> 40 In the third paragraph, "NCHRP 350" is revised to read "NCHRP 350 or MASH". <br /> 41 <br /> 42 In the fourth paragraph, "NCHRP 350" is revised to read "NCHRP 350 or MASH". <br /> 43 <br /> 44 In the fifth paragraph, "NCHRP 350" is revised to read "NCHRP 350 or MASH". <br /> 45 <br /> 46 1-10.3(1) Traffic Control Labor <br /> 47 The first paragraph is revised to read: <br /> 48 <br /> 49 The Contractor shall furnish all personnel for flagging, for the execution of all <br /> 50 procedures related to temporary traffic control and for the setup, maintenance and <br /> 51 removal of all temporary traffic control devices and construction signs necessary to <br /> 52 control vehicular, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic during construction operations. <br /> I <br /> AMENDMENTS TO THE 2014 STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS BOOK <br /> Revised: 8/3/15 <br />
