1 <br /> 1 Bridge deck areas outside the repair area or steel reinforcing bar inside or outside the <br /> 2 repair area damaged by the Contractor's operations, shall be repaired by the Contractor <br /> 3 at no additional expense to the Contracting Agency, and to the satisfaction of the <br /> 4 Engineer. <br /> 5 <br /> 6 6-09.3(6)C Placing Deck Repair Concrete <br /> 7 The third paragraph is supplemented with the following: <br /> 8 <br /> 9 The Work of Type 1 further deck preparation shall consist of removing and disposing of <br /> 10 the concrete within the repair area. <br /> 11 <br /> 12 The following new sentence is inserted before the last sentence of the last paragraph: <br /> 13 <br /> 14 The Work of Type 2 further deck preparation shall consist of removing and disposing of <br /> 15 concrete within the repair area, and furnishing, placing, finishing, and curing the repair <br /> 16 concrete. <br /> 17 <br /> 18 6-09.3(7) Surface Preparation for Concrete Overlay <br /> 19 The first sentence of the second paragraph is revised to read: <br /> 20 <br /> 21 If either a rotary milling machine or a shot blasting machine is used for concrete <br /> 22 scarification, then the concrete deck shall be sandblasted or shot blasted, using <br /> 23 equipment identified in the Working Drawing submittals, until sound concrete is <br /> 24 exposed. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 The third paragraph is revised to read: <br /> 27 <br /> 28 If a hydro-demolition machine is used for concrete scarification, then the concrete deck <br /> 29 shall be cleaned by water blasting with 7,000 psi minimum pressure, until sound <br /> 30 concrete is exposed. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 In the fourth paragraph, "as approved by the Engineer" is revised to read "accepted by the <br /> 33 Engineer". <br /> 34 <br /> 35 In the last sentence of the eighth paragraph, the phrase "as approved by the Engineer" is <br /> 36 deleted. <br /> 37 <br /> 38 In the first sentence of the last paragraph, "approved" is revised to read "allowed". <br /> 39 <br /> 40 6-09.3(8)B Quality Assurance for Latex Modified Concrete Overlays <br /> 41 The second sentence of the last paragraph is revised to read: <br /> 42 <br /> 43 The technical representative shall be capable of performing, demonstrating, inspecting, <br /> 44 and testing all of the functions required for placement of the latex modified concrete as <br /> 45 specified in Section 6-09.3(11). <br /> 46 <br /> 47 The fourth sentence of the last paragraph is revised to read: <br /> 48 <br /> 49 Recommendations made by the technical representative on or off the jobsite shall be <br /> 50 adhered to by the Contractor at no additional expense to the Contracting Agency. <br /> 51 <br /> i <br /> AMENDMENTS TO THE 2014 STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS BOOK <br /> Revised: 8/3/15 <br />
