AD/ll/N/ST/AT/ON
March 12, 2007
Tom and Alana Campbell
6308 E. Lake Sammamish Parkway NE
Redmond, Wa 98052
Re: Letter Dated 2/25/07
Dear Mr. nd Mrs. Campbell:
Everett

i
°'
s
ZUU2
The Mayor's Office received your letter concerning your misfortunes related to
your efforts to rebuild your home damaged by the fire. The City's Building Officfal
has reviewed this matter. His Department's review indicates the following:
- A permit to repair the fire damage (roof) was applied for on June 27, 2006 by
your contractor. The plans were prepared for Sound Loss and Claims (David
Griffiths) on your behalf.
- The permit was processed and available to be picked up on July 5, 2006.
However, the permit was not picked up by your contractor until October 25, 2006.
- TI`re have been no revisions to the plans originally submitted and approved.
- There have been no inspections called for by you or your contractor to date for
this permit.
- No one has asked the City stop work, rescind the permit or revise the approved
plans.
- The Building Department met with Mr. Jack Feingold (approx. July 06) who
was retained by Farmers Insurance Company to look into the scope of work. He
asked if the City would require the entire roof be removed. The Building Official
answered that the City would require repair of the damaged portions of the
structure and that the non-damaged portions could remain. A determination of
what was damaged versus undamaged would need to be made and verified by
the contractor's/owner's engineer. The City has not been contacted by Mr.
Feingold since that meeting.
CITY OF EVERETT• 2930 Wetmore Ave., Suite 10-A • Everett, WA 98201 •(425) 257-8700 • Fax (425) 257-8729 %5
