January 2, 2013
CITIZEN COMMENTS
Katrina Lindahl, Everett, spoke about the Riverfront property. She
encouraged the city council to support development of high quality anchor
stores rather than big box stores on the site.
Debra Bryant, CAO/CFO, stated the property disposition agreement will
go with the property even if it is assigned. To date, the city has no further
details; however, there will be a briefing next Wednesday, January 9,
2013.
Council Member Gipson asked Debra Bryant to provide a copy of the
disposition paper to each council member prior to the council meeting
next week.
ACTION ITEM:
DISCUSSION AND APPOINTMENT OF CANDIDATE FOR POSITION
NO. 3
President Moore thanked Council Member Gipson for his efforts to assure
an expeditious and transparent process, and he reviewed the process for
filling the vacant seat on the council.
Annie Lyman, Everett, thanked Council Member Gipson for making the
process transparent, and she encouraged the council to consider citizen
votes taken in the last election when making the appointment.
Council members offered comments about the process and the
candidates being considered for the appointment.
President Moore asked for nominations from each council member,
opened the nominations, and reported that Council Members Affholter,
Bader, and Moore nominated Scott Murphy. Council Members
Stonecipher and Roberts nominated June Robinson, and Council Member
Gipson's nomination went to Pete Kinch.
2
