Streetscape - Prominent Entrance <br /> Intent: <br /> To ensure that building entrances are easily identifiable and clearly visible from streets and <br /> sidewalks. <br /> Guidelines: The principal entry shall be marked by at least two of the following: <br /> • Recessed entrance (recessed at least 3 ft.) <br /> • Protruding entrance(protruding at least 3 ft) <br /> • Canopy(extending at least 5 ft) <br /> • Portico (extending at least 5 ft) <br /> • Overhang (extending at least 5 ft) <br /> • Gateway/trellis <br /> • Ornamentation around the door <br /> 15. Streetscape Elements <br /> Intent: <br /> To create a more pedestrian friendly street through the use of site furnishings. <br /> Guidelines: Publicly-usable site furnishings such as benches, tables, bike racks and other <br /> pedestrian amenities shall be provided at building entrances and other pedestrian areas for <br /> all buildings. Specific types of site furnishings shall be approved by the City if in the right- <br /> of-way. <br /> 16. Sidewalks and Street Trees <br /> Intent: <br /> To establish a consistent character for street right-of-ways and enhance the natural, <br /> aesthetic and urban environment as well as improve pedestrian safety. <br /> Guidelines: <br /> Minimum streetscape improvements are listed in Section 2 of Ordinance 2850-05. The <br /> following guidelines provide additional information regarding the nature and intent of said <br /> improvements. The Planning Director and City Engineer will have final review authority <br /> over actual improvements installed. <br /> • Street trees shall be planted between the curb and the walking path of the sidewalk. <br /> 13 <br />
