1.7 Management should provide a designated area for car washing. <br /> That area should be tied into the sanitary sewer where <br /> feasible. If this is not possible, then pretreatment, such as a <br /> grassed swale, should be used before the runoff from the area <br /> enters a stormwater management system. Separate receptacles <br /> should be provided for oil and antifreeze dumping. An effort <br /> should be made to recycle these wastes. Wastes must be disposed <br /> of in a manner which will not adversely impact the water quality <br /> of the state. <br /> 1.8 The owner of a construction site which disturbs five acres or <br /> more of total land area, and which has or will have a discharge . <br /> of storm water to a surface water or ta a storm sewer, must <br /> apply for coverage uader Ecology's Baseline General Permit for <br /> Storm Water Discharges Associated with Industrial Activities. <br /> Owners of sites where less than five acres of total land area <br /> aill be diaturbed must also apply if the construction activity <br /> is part of a larger plan of development or sale in which more <br /> than five acres will eventually be 3lsturbed. Diacharge of <br /> storm water from such sites without a permit is illegal and <br /> subject to eaforcement action by the Department of Ecology. <br /> 1.9 Application should be made at least 30 days prior to <br /> commencement of the construction activities.
