14. A sewer main must be extended to serve this site. (SEPA Water
Policies)
15. Wetlands:
There are five wetlands on/or adjacent to the Mukilteo School
District Site:
- Wetland A is a 1.3 acre, Category III emergent/scrub-shrub
palustrine wetland. It is hydraulically connected to a draieage
ahich enters the site from the east and eaita through a 24-inch
culvert within the Transit facility. Wetland A provides
moderate hydrologic and biologic functional values. Its
hydrologic values are derived principally from stormwater
management functions including pollutant reduction, flood flow
management and stream base flow contribution potential and
ability. 7".ie Applicant is not proposing to fill Wetland A.
- Wetland B is a .016 acre, Category IV palustrine scrub-shrub
depression located adacent to Kasch Park which receives surface
flows. During the initial time of evaluation, so1ls were
saturate3 at the surface to within 6 to 12 iaches of the
surface. Due to its small size, functional values are eatremely
limited to insignificant.
- Wetland C is a .OS acre, Catgory III mised palustrine
scrub-shrub and emergent marsh wetland. Wetland C is most
likely a remnant of Wetland A, although it is currently
hydrologically isolated fsom the latter by noa-hydric soils and
a slight topographic rise at it;s eastern end. Due to its small
size, this wetland has minimal functional values. Its
hydrologic value is limited to recharge and due to the
underlying hardpan, recharge potential is limited. Habit$t
values are not significantly different from surrounding
uplands. The Applicant is proposing to fill .058 acres of
Wetland C.
- Wetlaad D is a .17 acres, Category IV palustrine
scrub-shrub/emergent marsh wetland. Approaimately S,b00 square
feet of the wetland are located within the Pain Field property
to the south. Principally due to its size, this h_tland
provides minimal hydrologic and biologic functional values. Its
hydrologic function is recharge and due to the underlyiag
hardpan, recharge potential is limited. Habitat values are not
significantly different from surrounding uplands. The applicant
is proposing to fill .13 acr.es of Wetland D.
- Wetland E is a .98 acres, Category III mized palustrine
scrub-shrub emergent and open water wetland. Wetland hydrology
appear to be from surficial sources, although some spring
sources are posstble. Wetland E provides moderate hydrologic
-6-
