ARTICLE 12 - CLOTHING ALLOWANCE <br /> 12.1 General. <br /> 12.1.1 The Police Department will initially purchase and thereafter replace the following <br /> items of clothing: <br /> Class B working uniforms required under regulations. Replacement(s) <br /> will be made at the request of the employee to the City, by means of <br /> requisition to the property officer. Items furnished will include helmets, <br /> hard equipment and any specialized police equipment or clothing as <br /> required by the Chief of Police. <br /> When required, dress uniforms will be furnished by the City. <br /> 12.1.2 The City shall reimburse employees up to $680.00 per calendar year for the <br /> purchase of clothing and/or equipment necessary for the performance of their <br /> respective position. The City shall reimburse the employee after presentation of a <br /> receipt showing the employee's purchase of the subject clothing and/or equipment. <br /> The Chief of Police shall have the authority to determine whether any particular item <br /> of clothing or piece of equipment purchased by an employee is reimbursable under <br /> this Section 12.1.2. <br /> 12.1.3 The City will provide contract cleaning with a local dry cleaning facility, and provide <br /> uniform cleaning for employees. The Chief of Police may set policy to establish <br /> what is considered reasonable use. <br /> 12.1.4 Effective July 1, 2015, the City shall reimburse employees $200.00 per calendar <br /> year for the purchase of uniform shoes. The City shall reimburse the employee <br /> after presentation of a receipt showing the employee's purchase of the uniform <br /> shoes. <br /> 12.1.5 Employees during the period of disability leave will not be reimbursed for clothing or <br /> shoe allowance. <br /> EVERETT POLICE MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION <br /> PAGE 16 <br />
