5 <br /> Specific work tasks to be performed are described in the following sections. <br /> Subtask 5.1 - Evaluation of Alternatives for Electrical Equipment Enclosure. <br /> Three alternatives will be evaluated: installing the electrical equipment in a separate <br /> building,installing the equipment in a building as part of the pump station,and installing <br /> the equipment in appropriate NEMA rated enclosures for outdoor service. <br /> Subtask 5.1 Deliverables. Figures and an opinion of probable cost for each viable alternative <br /> will be prepared. <br /> Subtask 5.2 - Evaluation of Installing Pumps within the Existing Chlorine Contact Channel. <br /> A preliminary design of the pump station and an opinion of probable cost will be prepared. <br /> The preliminary design will include a cursory structural analysis as well as a layout of the <br /> pumps and associated valves,the electrical equipment, the connecting piping, and the <br /> structural slab. The results will be presented in a technical memorandum. <br /> Subtask 5.2 Deliverables. Technical memorandum including an updated opinion of probable <br /> cost and figures showing the proposed layout of the pumps,electrical enclosure, and <br /> piping. Notes from the review meeting with City staff will be prepared. <br /> Subtask 5.3 - Evaluation of Grand Avenue & 26th Street Alignment. <br /> A preliminary design of the pipeline following Grand Avenue and 26th Street will be <br /> prepared. This work will consist of a site visit,preparation of an alignment description, <br /> preparation of drawings, and preparation of an opinion of probable cost. <br /> Subtask 5.3 Deliverables. The deliverables for Subtask 5.3 will include a description of the <br /> alignment(included as part of the 30%Submittal),a drawing showing the proposed <br /> pipeline alignment along Grand Avenue and 26th Street,profiles showing alternatives for <br /> the crossing of West Marine View Drive, and an opinion of probable cost. The City will <br /> choose a preferred alignment based on the cost difference and comparative traffic impacts. <br /> Subtask 5.4- Evaluation of River Diffuser Capacity. <br /> The capacity of the existing river diffuser will be evaluated and a technical memorandum <br /> will be prepared and submitted to the City. This work will include consultation with the <br /> manufacturer of the diffuser valves regarding head loss at various flows and modeling of <br /> the system using CH2M HILL software. The analysis will be based on a condition of no <br /> sediment accumulation. <br /> Subtask 5.4 Deliverables. Technical memorandum stating the computed capacity of the river <br /> diffuser and design assumptions. <br /> Subtask 5.5- Design of Existing Manhole Repair. <br /> The design task is expanded to include repair of a damaged CSO manhole located near the <br /> west end of the existing river crossing pipe and repair of the riprap bank protection. This <br /> work will include preparation of a base map showing the work area,a design drawing <br /> showing the manhole and riprap bank repair,preparation of appropriate specification <br /> sections,and preparation of an opinion of probable cost. <br /> 1 " <br /> 30F5 <br />
