5 <br /> INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT <br /> FOR ANIMAL CONTROL AND LICENSING SERVICES <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> THIS AGREEMENT is made and entered into by and between SNOHOMISH <br /> COUNTY, a political subdivision of the State of Washington (the County), and the <br /> CITY OF EVERETT, a political subdivision of the State of Washington (the City), <br /> collectively referred to hereinafter as the Parties, <br /> WITNESSES THAT : <br /> WHEREAS,the County does not have an animal shelter facility and the City does; and <br /> WHEREAS, the County desires that its employees, in the performance of their duties, <br /> and the citizens of the unincorporated portions of Snohomish County, be able to bring <br /> cats, dogs, and other small animals to the City shelter for care and disposal; and <br /> WHEREAS, the County wants to provide animal shelter services and supplemental <br /> licensing locations to its citizens; and <br /> WHEREAS,the City is capable of providing those services and willing to do so; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the covenants, conditions, performances, and <br /> promises hereinafter contained,the parties agree as follows: <br /> 1. Scope of Services to be Performed <br /> 1.1 The City shall provide housing, feeding, watering, daily care, veterinary care <br /> at the City shelter manager's discretion, release to owner and adoption services, <br /> euthanasia, and disposal of remains services for animals delivered to the City's shelter by <br /> either County employees acting in their official capacity or residents of unincorporated <br /> Snohomish County. The term "Unincorporated Snohomish County" shall refer to those <br /> bodies of land within Snohomish County, Washington, which are not now, or later <br /> annexed to be,within the boundaries of an incorporated city. <br /> 6 ? <br />
