Exhibit A
U
2.5—EWPS Discharge Piping and Transmission Main Evaluation (City)
• Verify capacity of 30-inch transmission main in Casino Road that conveys
water from EWPS to Reservoir 6. Determine required capacity, as well as
frequency and duration of potential high velocities during future peak demand
conditions.
• Verify available and required capacity and associated velocities. City to
provide any additional system information needed and verify system
configuration represented in the hydraulic analysis model.
• Identify advantages, disadvantages, and costs associated with replacing the
transmission main or installing a new, additional transmission main. The new
transmission main alternative will consider the main route and crossing
location along Evergreen Way.
2.6—AWWD Pump Stations Evaluation (AWWD)
The focus of evaluations at the AWWD Pump Stations will be to identify issues,
protocols and impacts to AWWD associated with use of the existing and proposed
infrastructure, pumping and storage facilities to provide water to the District and
possibly to the City during power outages over the next 20 years. The evaluation will
address:
• How much backup water should AWWD provide now and through the 20
years at 5 year intervals. Coordinate results of this task with work activities
identified under Task 2.1 (Standby Power Needs Assessment). Identify
AWWD policy issues associated with this alternative.
• Identify what new facilities or facilities upgrades are required, and the timing
of those upgrades, to provide for the amount of water identified above.
Consideration will be given to the upcoming SCADA improvements currently
under planning by AWWD.
• Identify additional security issues that should be addressed as part of this
project.
Deliverables
Prepare a technical memorandum at the conclusion of each Task (2.1 through 2.6).
Each technical memorandum shall summarize results of evaluations and present
information in a format that clearly identifies:
• Background information and relevant technical considerations associated with
each alternative.
• Results of evaluations including technical findings, cost and operations
considerations,permitting issues and related information.
4 i% Phase I Scope(2/28/03)
