PROJECT MONITORING AND AAAINTlNANCE PROGRAM <br />Requirements for monitoring project: <br />1. Initial compliance report <br />2. Semi-annual site inspections (spring and fall) for five years <br />3. Annual rerorts (one report submitted in the falt of each monitored year) <br />The purpose for munitoring this project shall be to evaluate its success. Success will <br />be determined if monitoring shows at the end of five years that the definition of <br />success stated below is met. The property owner(s) shall grant access to the <br />mitigation area(s) for inspection and maintenance to the contracted wetland <br />professional and the cit.y inspector during the period of the bond, or until the project <br />is evaluated as successful. <br />Reportin4 Method_: Upon completion of the proposed mitigation project, an <br />inspection by a qualified wetland professional shall be made to determine plan <br />compliance. A comp:iai��e report shall be supplied to the City of Everett within 30 <br />days after the completioi� of planting. Condition monitoring of the plantings shall be <br />done by a certified wetland professional. A written report describing the monitoring <br />results shall be submitted to the City of Everett after the fall site inspection of each <br />monitored year. Final inspection will occur five years after completion of the <br />project. The consulting wetland professional will prepare a report as to the success <br />of the project. <br />Definition of Success: The planting area shall support at least 80% of the native plants <br />set forth in the approved plantin� plan by the end of five years. The species mix <br />should resemble that proposed in [he plan, but strict adherence to obtaining all of the <br />species shall not be a criteria for success. By the end of the fifth growing season, the <br />percent aerial coverage of native plants shall be 80% in the planting area. <br />Maintenance: The planting areas may require periodic maintenance during the <br />monitoring period. Maintenance may include, but will not be limited to, removal of <br />competing grasses and invasive vegetation (by hand if necessary), irrigation, <br />replacement of plant mortality, fertilization, and/or the replacement of mulch. <br />Aggressive control of invasive grasses may be required in the restoration areas. <br />Chemical control, if necessary, shall be applied by a licensed applicator following all <br />label instructions. <br />King Residence 8 WRI t106290 <br />Cri[ical Area Study Rev. #1: Apr1123, 2007 \ <br />('I�-I� �/ <br />
