c. Lanes without curbs shall be identified b;�red traffic paint with a 6-inch wide stripe on <br /> the pavement, exlending lhe length of the desiynated fire lane. <br /> d. The words 'NO PARKING— FIRE LANE' shail be in 3-inch slroke white letters 18 <br /> inches in height, and placed 8 inches measured perpendicular from the red paint stripe on <br /> the pavement. In most cases, both sides of lhe access road shall be marked. Where long <br /> drives are to be marked, the repetitions shall alternate sides of the drive. <br /> e. Marking shall also include the addition of inetal signs stating 'NO PARKING—FIRE <br /> LANE—TOW AWAY ZONE' to be installed at intervals or locations designated by lhe Fire <br /> Code Official. he signs shall be approximately 12 inches in width and 18 inches in height <br /> and have red lelters on a white background. Metal signs shall be installed on either 2-inch <br /> metal pipes for private property or treated 4-inch by 4-inch wood posts for public property <br /> and shall be located so that the bottom of the sign is a minimum of 7 feet above the curb. <br /> where fire lanes are adjacent to buildings or structures and when approved or directed by <br /> the Fire Code Official, the signs may be placed on the face of lhe building er structure. <br /> F. Premise Idenlification - Premises shall be clearly identified by the correct address at the <br /> streel entry. Buildings shall be clearly identified so as to be visible and legible irom the <br /> acc�ss road. Individual apartments and suites, where applicable, shall be clearly and <br /> legibly identified from the access road. <br /> 6. Fire Hvdrants -The Everelt Municipal Code and the International Fire Code require that <br /> fire hydrants be provided within a maximum distance and oF sufficient number and spacing <br /> to all new construction. The distance and number of hydranls varies based on type of <br /> construction and occupancy of the sVucture. <br /> 7. A (ire hydrant is required within 200 driving (eet, but not closer than 50 feet, of every <br /> structure. Location of lhe hydrant(s) shall be approved by lhe Fire Code O�cial. <br /> 8. PREMISE IDENTIFICATION AND ALL REQUIRED FIRE DEPARTMENT ACCESS <br /> ` ROADS AND FIRE HYDRANTS SHALL BE IN SERVICE PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT <br /> `' OF CONSTRUCTION. <br /> 9. Fire flow for this project is 2,375 gpm. <br /> 10. Portable Fire Protection -A portable fire extinguisher with a minimum U.L. rating of <br /> 2-A:10-B:C shall be provided within 75 (eet of travel on all (loors of each building duri�g <br /> consiruction and prior to occupancy. <br /> 11. Fire Alarm Svstem -An approved automatic fire detection system shall be provided as <br /> required by Cily Ordinance No. 3021-07, Chapter 16.76, of the Everett Municipal Code. <br />�.':' <br /> � <br /> �v <br />
