The accessible means of egress for the �uilding should be noted on the drawings, per IBC <br />section 1007.1. <br />Response: See Code Summary — Occupant Needs, X- Chapter 10: Exits, E. AccessiWe <br />Means of Exit (1007) o� reissued Sheet G002. <br />2. The elevator cab interior clear dimensions should be shown on the drawings such ihal the <br />elevalor car shall be of such a size and arrangement to accommodate a 24-inch by 84-inch <br />(610 mm by 1930 mm) ambuiance stretcher in the horizonlal, open position and shall be <br />idF�tified by the internalional symboi for emergency medical services (star of life). The symbol <br />shall not oe less than 3 inches (76 mm) high and sha!I be placed inside on both sides of the <br />hoistway door frame, per EMC chapter 16.01, section V. <br />Response: See Sheet A415 Elevator Plans and Sections. (The specifications also <br />cover IBC Chapter 10 requirements.) <br />3. Landing depth and width should be dimensioned for all slairs on the drawings, per IBC section <br />1009.5. <br />Response: See attached resubmitted drawings A412 for dimensions for stairs. <br />4. Where doors swing into the stainvell landing, the arc of the door swing on the minimum <br />landing dimensions should be shown on the drawings not to reduce the required landing to <br />less than one-half of lhe required width, per IBC sedion 10D9.5. <br />Response: Dimensions for allowable landing reduction due to door swings are shown <br />on Stair plan drewings A411 8 A412. (Note: Only landings that get reduced to less than <br />the stair width are dimensioned. Others that exceed their stair width are obviously in <br />compliance.) <br />5. Minimum tread dimansion of 11 inches and maximum riser dimension of 7 inches should be <br />shown for all stairs on the drawings, per IBC section 1009.4.2. <br />Response: Riser and tread dimension are shown on Sheet A411 8 A412. <br />G. Handrail height and profile should be indicated on the drawings, per IDC section 1012.2 and <br />1012.3. <br />Response: Handrail height is indicated on Sheets A411 & A412. <br />7. Handrail extensions should be shown on the drawings al lhe top and bottom of stairs and <br />ramps, per IBC section 1012.6. <br />Response: Handrail extensions are dimensions on Sheets A411 & A412. <br />6. Stair 1 requires a gate shown on the drawings at the second floor, per IBC section 1022.7. <br />Directional exit signs should be sho�vn on lhe drawings. <br />Response: The gate at Stair 1, second floor landing leading down to the 1s� floor is <br />shown on Sheet A102 and 21A411. <br />
