Fabrica!A <br />glass to sizes necessary for glazing openings indicaled, with edge clearances and tolerances <br />complying with recommendations of glass manufacturer. <br />B. Laminated Architectural FIa1 Glass: Heat and pressure process to fuse glass to interlayer <br />contorming to ASTM C 1172. P�ovide 0.060 inch thick polyvinyl butyral interlayer. <br />1. Pattem Glazing: i wo layers of glass with proprietary interlayer. <br />a. GL-5: Two layers of clear float glass Pulp Studio Tatami, P203A-40-100°b Scale, 40 <br />percent opacity, 0.5625 inch overall lhickness. <br />b. Gl•6: As required for GL-5 except one layer of clear float glass laminated to Pulp <br />5?udios REF 250 etched glass; install laminated assembty for orientation required. <br />2. Clear 1'ransom Lights: Two layers oi clear float qlass laminated to a clear interlayer; <br />compiy with periormance requireme�its (or safety glazing and match thickness oi GL-5. <br />3. Sloped Glazing: Two laminated panes each 025 inch clear tempered float. <br />q. Privacy Glazing: Laminate high purity fluat giass with vision obscuring interlayer, <br />Northwestern Industries, Inc. Sandwhite LAM. <br />5. Laminated Safety Glazing: Comply with Performance Requirements tor thickness of each <br />component and overali assembly. <br />C. Insulating Glazing Unit: Indicated as IGU, ASTM E 774 for Class A units incorporating <br />materials specified. Incorporate heat treated glazing as required. <br />1. Vertical IGU indicaled as GL-1: One inch thick assembty with one-half inch air space, and <br />one quarter inch Ihick lights, except as olhenvise required to comply with System <br />Description Article. Outboard light with the speci(ied low•e coated on number 2 surlace, <br />inboard light ot clear iloat unless othenvise required. <br />a. GL-4 Spandrel Glass as required for GL-1 except ihe inboard light shall be ceramic <br />fritted spandrel. <br />b. Operable Liglits: Provide ASTM E 2649 Argon tilled unils wilh lhermal!y enhance <br />TGI space bar. <br />c. GL-3 Translucent Privacy: As required for GL-1 except the inboard light shall be <br />specilied laminaled privacy glazing. <br />2. GL•2 Sloped IGU: One inch thick assembiy with outboard light of tempered high purily <br />tloat with specified low-e coating on the number 2 surface, and inboard light of laminated <br />sioped g�azing. <br />3. Provide heat slrengthened float glass where required tor light size and con(iguration and <br />to resist thermal stresses induced by di(ferential shading per System Description Article. <br />Provide Kind FT (fully tempered) glass lights where safety glass is indicated. <br />4. Sealing System: Dual seal ot poiyisobutylene, and silicone. <br />5. Spacer: Desiccant filled aluminum with powdered metal paint tinish in color selected by <br />Architect, bent at three comers. <br />D. Glazing tor Guardrails: Coordinate with Section OS 52 00 requirements ior stanchions, glazing <br />hardware and handrails; fabricate glazing units in the sizes and configuralions required and <br />prepare to receive hardware required by that Section. <br />t. GLJ and GL-B: Expcsed edges ground and polished to provide a 45 degree bevel <br />nominally 0.0625 inch wide on each normal arris w�lh a flat polished sur(ace between <br />them across ihe thickness of the glass. <br />2.4 ACCESSORIES <br />A.
