1 <br /> 3.02 BACKFILL AND FILL <br /> A. For backiill of all excavatfons use material sampled and tested by the Geotechnical <br /> Consultant. <br /> B. All fill used for the following shall be structural flll: <br /> 1. F(II beneath footings and foundations. <br /> 2. Backfill agafnst footings, foundations and structural walls, except 2 feet of granular <br /> flll shall be placed immediately adjacent to structures for dralnage, unless otherwise <br /> shown on the drawings. <br /> C. Backfill excavatlons as promptly as work permits, but not until compleHon of the <br /> following: . <br /> 1. Acceptance by the Owner or Authorized Agent of oonstruction below flnish grade <br /> including, where applicable, waterproofing, dampprooflng, piping, conduits and <br /> per(meter insulation. <br /> 2. Inspection, testing, approvai and recording locations of underground pipfng and <br /> conduits. Coord(nate locations with surveyor for as-built survey. <br /> 3. Removal of concrete formwork. <br /> 4. Removal of shoring and bracing and backfllling of voids with satisfactory materials. <br /> 5. Removal of trash and debris. . <br /> 6. Pertnanent or temporary horizontel bracing is in place on horizontally supported <br /> walls. <br /> D. Ground Surface Preparadon <br /> 1. Remove vegetation, deb�is, unsatisfactory soil materials, obstructions and <br /> deleterious materials from ground surface prior to placement of ftlls. <br /> 2. When existing ground suriace has a density less than lhat specifled under <br /> "Compaction" for the particular area classiflcation, break up the ground surtace, <br /> pulverize, moisture-condition to the optimum moisture content, and compact to <br /> required depth and percentage of maximum density. <br /> 3.
