Work should be done in the dry season whenever possible(June 15 to September 15).
• Construction staging areas must be located outside of environmentally sensflive areas
and their buHers. Slreams, wellands, buffers, staging areas and construction limits shall
be clearly shown on conslrudion plans. Conetruclion limits shall be clealy marked in
the field with orange conatruction fencinp.
• Work shall be done so as to miimize turbidity, erosion, and other weter quality impacls.
• Proper erosion and sediment control measures shall be followed to prevent sediments
irom entering creeks or wetlands. Erosiocontrol measures ahall be epproved by the
Department of Engineering and Public Services and/or agenciea with Jurisdiction.
Measures may include, lwt not be limited to, placing plywood ecross lhe erea where
equfpment will operate; mulching the wellend areas where equfpment will operate;
placing wood chipa atop e tlexible mat to help prevent compadion (the wood chips and
mal must be removed following conatruction); plac!np sill fences end hay bales belween
, construclion areas and all adjacent wetlands and streams; and plecing ecology blocks
behveen conslruclion areas and streams or wetlands when e temporary flll is used for
roads, etc.
• Erosion control measurea ahell be in place and inspected prior to commencement of
work.
