However, there are a LOT of existing
utilities(particularly storm drainage, but some sewer too irom what I can figure) shown on the plans that extend beyond
the reaches of the impacted areas–and which are not shown in GoSync. Boeing has historically been a "big black box"
for us in terms of knowing much of anything about the utilities on the site. Pipes go in, and pipes come out–kinda like a
"Willy Wonka" airplane factory... In fact, w show NO storm drainage pipes, etc.witfiin the perimeter of the Boeing site
at all.
Very limited changes are actually being made to the existing storm drainage system, but none-the-less, I don't have the
in(ormation to know where the storm drainage comes from and goes to in the impacted areas. When this issue came up
at the Everett Mall (see email trail below, I was supported in requiring enough in(ormation[o"complete the pic[ure"
when they showed existing drainage sVuctures with insuf(icient information for the City to be able to do any kind of
effective illicit connection detection, etc.,even though I was pretty sure that the Mall would be reluctant to do so
because of who they are–they don't think the same rules should appty to them as apply to lesser important
developments in lhe City... Well, this is Boeing, and I think they're even more likely to object to providing the
information.
So my question is again -ought I just let these opportunities go7 Or do I ask for, and persist in getting, the information
about the existing system that I need to really be able to review and approve these plans.
And again (!, please let me know what you think I oughter do. I wait humbly for direction from above. Thankz.
Janc
— —
From: ]im Mi!ler
Sent: Thursday, January 21, 2010 7:57 AM
To; ]ane Zimmerman; Heather Kibbey
Subjed: RE: redevelopments
1
3
