B. Managers, coaches and rowers must sign out in the log book. Coaches <br /> must keep an attendance record <br /> 4 C. All shells on the water must be logged in the log book stating: date, <br /> time, cox, destination: sign back in on return. <br /> D. Destination entered in log book is not subject to change-. Condition <br /> (tide levels and rate of flow, skill levels of rowers) must be taken into <br /> consideration prior to signing out_ If you signed out for a specific <br /> 14 <br /> destination then that is where you must go, except to return to the <br /> boathouse. <br /> 3. Use of ERA equipment: <br /> A. In those circumstances where a launch is required the launch driver <br /> must have visual contact with the rowers at all times. <br /> B. Single and double seated shells must be accompanied by another shell <br /> (buddy boat) or a launch_ From November 1 through March 31,single <br /> shells must be accompanied by a launch. <br /> C. Qualifications for rowing single and double seated shells: <br /> I.) Know how to get back into the shell or get on the stern <br /> and paddle it to chore_ <br /> 2.) In the absence of certification a launch or recognized coach <br /> must be present for the duration of the time on the water <br /> D. Coxswains for novice rowers must have completed a coxswains course <br /> and/ or be experience in the actual coxing of boats. <br /> E. It is recommended that all rowers bring a warm change of clothing <br /> with them each time they row. <br /> F. Equipment that is not used during a open or coached row must have <br /> Council approval. ERA members can petition the Council for use of <br /> boats for other times if the following guidelines are followed. <br /> 1. ERA member requesting use of boats know policy and follow <br /> the safety rules. <br /> 2. member must have had at least 2 years of sculling if using small <br /> boats. <br /> 3. petitions must be in writing and requested for a specific time <br /> not to exceed 6 wk <br /> G7 <br />
