7 <br /> Task 515. Electrical Design <br /> Objective. Perform electrical design up to and including final drawings and specifications suitable for <br /> inclusion in public bidding documents for the project. <br /> Approach. The scope of this task shall consist of all work necessary for preparation of all electrical <br /> improvements for the Project The building and hypochlorite system will be electrically self-contained with <br /> the exception of a new power feed and data link to existing programmable logic controllers. Backup power <br /> generation is assumed to be provided upstream the new feeder. It is assumed that electrical power for this <br /> new building will be provided from the current feed point servicing the existing chlorine building. <br /> Electrical design drawings will include diagrams, schematics, plans, sections, and details of areas where new <br /> equipment instruments, wiring, control centers, panels, and appurtenances are to be installed. Electrical <br /> design drawings shall include electrical plans, one-line diagrams, lighting and receptacles, and electrical <br /> construction details. Electrical plan drawings shall show cable raceways locations and shall indicate <br /> equipment connections as "home-run" type symbols with reference to which MCC a cable is to be <br /> connected. <br /> Process specific electrical equipment includes, for example, level detectors and switches, visual and audible <br /> alarms, and chlorine analyzers and loop flow control for the metering pumps. Specific activities are as <br /> follows: <br /> • Review the general and mechanical design requirements. <br /> • Define hazardous areas in the project buildings and sites. <br /> • Prepare one-line diagrams for the plant distribution systems. <br /> • Provide motor control schematics for all loads. <br /> • Develop electrical specifications. <br /> • Develop electrical drawings,including a site plan,and MCC/substations. <br /> • Develop raceway,conduit,and wire schedules. <br /> Activities/Products. Specific electrical activities included in this task are as follows: <br /> 1. Products for this task include analysis and calculations associated with design of electrical <br /> systems. <br /> 2. Electrical (E) drawings and specifications will be submitted with 50, 90 and 99 percent <br /> design review submittals and will be included in the project manual. <br /> City's Responsibilities. <br /> 1. Supply current as-built drawings for all buried and exposed power supply cables,duct banks, <br /> raceways, instrument cables, communication cabling, yard piping, process piping, and <br /> structures at the plant. <br /> 2.
