Reda's
accomplishments with this project led her to be selected by her senior seminar teacher and school
advisor to present her project to a group of 60 community members. Her senior project focus was
to promote and encourage personal enrichment by learning how to service the community.
Reda has also been involved with helping others in the community including volunteering
time at the Everett Gospel Mission serving meals, organizing a Christmas food drive at Cascade
High School, organizing a food drive for Housing Hope and organizing a fundraiser for tsunami
disaster relief.
Reda's biggest challenge has been finding her identify. Because of her passion to help
others, Reda stepped down from cheerleading to spend more time developing the Key Club
chapter. Her work organizing students and encouraging them to service the community has been
very rewarding for her.
Reda was nominated for this award by her sister, Christina Aho.
Reda's ability to recognize needs other than her own and find the time to fulfill some of
those goals was why the committee selected Reda to receive the Mayor's Youth Achievement
Award.
Martha Floyd: This 16-year-old junior attends Everett Community College through the
Running Start Program at Everett High School.
