She thanked the Council for their work and stated there is an <br /> army of people supporting the Council. <br /> COUNCIL BRIEFING AGENDA: <br /> COUNCIL BILL 1701-06 <br /> FIRST READING: <br /> AN ORDINANCE regulating For-Hire Vehicles and repealing the <br /> existing For-Hire Ordinance under Section 17 <br /> Presented by Katie Rathbun, Legal <br /> Council Member Murphy inquired about insurance requirements for the <br /> transportation network companies (TNC). He asked if a rider could make <br /> a claim against the TNC's insurance policy if the driver's insurance <br /> coverage was not sufficient. <br /> Ms. Rathbun stated she would look into it and report back to the Council. <br /> She also noted that the proposed ordinance contains a clerical error in <br /> Section 4.E., which should read "the for-hire license fee shall be $500 <br /> dollars after June 30 of each year," not July 31. <br /> Mitchel Matthews, Washington State and the Pacific Northwest senior <br /> operations manager for Uber, asked the Council to direct staff to continue <br /> to work with Uber to refine ordinance definitions.
