Our Consulting Engineer (JMM) will open a separate job number to <br />keep ttack of a11 engineering costs associatcd with this work to be paid on a time and <br />material basis using o�.u� existing contract with them. JMM would work direcdy wi�h th� <br />��N � further define the Ciry's design requirements. <br />It is understood that the City would reimburse the Disaict for 100 percent of the <br />engineering and construcdon costs associated with item No. 1(replacing 600 feet ± of 48- <br />inch stoim drain), <br />For item No. 2(increase size of storm drain pipe on site from 30-inches to 48-inches), che <br />District would pay chac pomon of the cost which is currendy in the bid The City would <br />pay 100�A, ag the addidonal engineering aad cons�uction (i.e. change order) cost ta upsi�r.e <br />the line to the 48-incn size. <br />For item No. 3(install frontage improvements), �t is understood that the engineering and <br />construction cosu would be shazed, with the Dis�ict paying 25 percent and the City paying <br />75 percent It is unders[ood that this 25/75 pei�cent split is based on an esamate of tt±e <br />District's fair shaze of the use of the oveiall site which is owned by the Ciry. <br />Our current project schedule assumes that a notice to proceed can be issued to our <br />Conuactor by the second week in December. This, of course, is condngent on receipt of <br />the necessary SPU and building pemut�, Excavadon of the pump stadon site is expected to <br />occ�ar in early January to accommodate delivery of pump baaels in mid January. <br />Therefore, it will be necessary to complete the reroudng of the storas dryin piping in <br />December. In order to accomplish this schcdule, ic will be necessary to begin design work <br />on the stoim drainage revisions immediately. <br />Wo understand that final approval of this work by the Ciry may require acdon by your City <br />Council, which would take more dme than we can aiford. However, if we can get your <br />concurrence wich the approach presented herein for the storm drain work, we will authorize <br />our engir.;,e �:.e cor.sui;aa; ;c prxeed „:;[h ;he design of t,he on-site storm dcain work. <br />We have provided a signature line at the end of this letter for you to indicate your <br />concurrence. Alcernately, you may which to prepare a separate response letter. In either <br />case. we would appreciate your prompt sttention to this matter. We appreciate the Ciry's <br />coopetaaon with che Dis�ict on this project to date and aze pleased to be able to assist the <br />Ciry in meeting some of your goals at the project site.
