Section I on Sheet 3, Section I on Sheet 4 and Section I oil Sheet S have also
been modified to show the slab insulation.
MECHANICAL No have been added to Sheet 3 indicating the requirements for
semi -heated spaces in accordance with Chapter 13 of the WSEC. (A gas fuueled
unit/system controlled by a thermostat with a uraxinan set point capacity of 45
degrees has been noted. Therefore, wall insulation is not required by the
Exception under Section 1310.02)
Reference the BUILDING ENVFLOPF notes on Street I for the insulation and door
and ivindow callouts.
Since insulation is required on the addition, ive are raising the roof to align
with the roof at the main building. The plywood sheathing for both portions of
the building will be at the same level. The main roofslopes at 112:12, while the
storage roof will slope at 1:12. The slopes are indicated au the new Roo Plan
on new Sheet 4.1.
b. All spaces are considered be semi -heated, at minimum, per WSEC section 1301.
Pacific Response:
The new addition will be considered a semi -heated space.
2. The insulation, glazing and R-value at new doors and exterior envelope should be
shown on the drawings to meet the minimum requirements to comply with the 2009
Washington State Energy Code.
Pacific Response:
Refer to Sheet 1 BUILDING ENVFt.oPE for the insulation, glazing and R-value at new
doors and exterior envelope.
Mechanical
1. A separate mechanical permit is required for new equipment and the distribution of air,
heat or cooling.
Pacific Response:
We have added MECHANICAL. NOTr:S onto Sheet 3 discussing the need for a separate
mechanical application and permit is required for all mechanical work. Additionally,
in our GFNaw, NoTEs an Sheet L I Note 28 discusses this as well.
OTHER MODIFICATIONS TO THE DRAWINGS
We have also made the following modifications to the drawings:
1. APPLICABLE CODESAND Rrrratr:Ncrs have been added to Sheet I (as indicated in our
meeting).
2. A typical note has been added in ;several places discussing the need for the
installation of a wood epoxy to be installed in the fire suppression cuts in the main
building's glue(!-laminnated roof beams. (Previous analysis indicates that the cuts dirt
not affect the glued-laminaled beans to support the code -required loads in shear.)
3. The removal and replacement of two additional interior doors are indicated on the
plans: the Restroon door (to hatch eldsting, the existing opening in the framing to
remain) and the door to Office #4 (existing slider modified to a pair of doors).
112'-OCurt N0 1SPI111•10-ILdoc II/10111
