If the Navy does come to Everett it may not be until <br />1989. <br />2. Ques: Have letters from the City been answered in the <br />past? This has gone on for four years. <br />Ans: At one time house was boarded up as requested by <br />the City but transients removed barricades. <br />3. Ques: What is your interest in this property? <br />Ans: Owner. Dorothy Chin is lien holder. <br />4. Ques: A demolition permit was issued in the past; why <br />wasn't house demolished? <br />a <br />Ans: The contractor convinced Mr. Kathol that the building <br />could be restored and converted to a duplex. <br />S. Ques: This building is considered to be an attractive <br />nuisance and a hazard to children. What is the city's <br />liability if someone is hurt or if a fire occurs and <br />adjacent property is damaged? Would Mr. Kathol be <br />willing to provide liability insurance holding the city <br />harmless if the requested six-month stay is granted? <br />Ans: Mr. Kathol replied he would. <br />Marian Dent was asked to express her opinion. She stated that she <br />has been working on this property for tour years. It has been <br />boarded up in the past but has not remained secured. Mr. Kathol <br />has not responded to city requests in five years and she doubted <br />that anything would be done now. She would like to see plans <br />submitted and a building permit issued to restore the building <br />within the next 30 days and the work to be completed within six <br />months. <br />At this time all present except the Board were excused. <br />The meeting was reconvened at 2:20 p.m. The decision of the Board <br />follows: <br />1.
