Review Comments of the State Fire Marshal: 1. Revised plans, addenda and answers to prior review items are approved. 2. As noted previously, shop drawings of the fire alarm system shall be submitted for review and approval. 3. A cursory examination of E-2 shows the lack of corridor smoke detectors to protect the sleeping areas and a break station and audible device in the basement area. 4. Windows 'IS'' in isolation and counselor require wire glass assemblies the same as windows "1111 because such rooms are exposed to rooms which are not separated from the corridor. Such areas then become part of the exit corridor. See Section 3304(h) UBC, 1970 for maximum total area of openings and other details. Steel clips if used shall be not less than 1611 on center. Also, note 3304(h) does require steel frames. Local jurisdictions may not permit wood frames. A set of stamped "approved" documents is being returned for use at the job site.
