4. An elevation should be shown on the drawings where the Type I hood abuts the wall. A smooth, <br />cleanable, nonabsorbent and noncombustible material should be shown or, the elevation and noted to <br />✓ extend 18 inches in all directions from the hood to the full height of the hood canopy, per the <br />exception to IMC section 507.9. <br />�/5. The inside lower edges of the Type I commercial hoods should be dimensioned on the drawings to <br />extend minimum 6 inches beyond the edge of the top horizontal surface of the appliance on all open <br />sides, unless the hood is closed to the appliance side by a noncombustible wall or panel meeting the <br />requirements of the exception to IMC section 507.9, specifically on the hood returns adjacent to wall <br />construction: <br />6. Where cleanout openings are located in ducts within a fire -resistance rated enclosure, one -hour fire- <br />resistant access openings and signage ("ACCESS PANEL. DO NOT OBSTRUCT.' should be shown on <br />the drawings, per IMC sections 506.3.8 and 506.3.11, in all of the required locations, to include: <br />7. The following should be noted on the drawings: <br />a. Duct materials and thicknesses, per IMC section 506.3.1. <br />b. Grease duct leakage test coordinated with the schedule of the city inspector on -site such that <br />the installation can be reviewed with the light test prior to use or concealment, per IMC <br />506.3.2.5. <br />c. Grease duct support materials and attachments, per IMC section 506.3.3. <br />Suppression(K1309-003) <br />1. The chemical agent used to meet UL 300 should be provided in cut sheets. <br />2. The specific nozzle layout for the equipment served by the Type I hood should be shown in an <br />axonometric drawing, with measurements. <br />Applicable codes include: 2012 International Building Code (IBC), the 2012 International Fire Code (IFC), the <br />2012 International Mechanical Code (IMC), the 2009 Washington State Energy Code (WSEC), and the <br />Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities A117.1-2009 (ICC/ANSI) adopted by the State of Washington, as <br />amended by the City of Everett Municipal Code (EMC).
