Fittings shall coniorm to ASTM D 2466 and ASTM D 2869. <br />2. For cannections of 3" and 4" mains to mains 2-1/2" and smaller to automatic <br />crontrol valves and to quickcouPiing valves, fittinos shall be Schedule 40, PVC <br />solvent weld socket firiings whwh conform to A�TM D2466. <br />B. Solvent Weld Pipe:(PVC CI. 200) and Flex PVC Schedule 40, conforming to <br />ASTM D 2466, Type 1, Grades 1 or 2. Pipe may be belled on one end with the <br />dimensions of the tapered beli conforming to ASTM D 2672. Molded fitlings <br />manutactured of the same material as the pipe, suitable for solvent weld.Slip fifling <br />socket taper shall be so sized that a dry,unsoflened pipe end can be inserted no <br />more than hal(way into the socket. Plastic saddle, ilange fittings, and street ells not <br />permiried. <br />C. Galvanized Steep Pipe: Standard-weight threaded galvanized malleable iron <br />tittings, 150 psi. <br />sni vFNT WELD GOMPOUND: <br />Two-step application wiih primer and solvent compound as recommended by Pipe <br />Manufacturer. <br />VALVE BOXES: <br />Automatic Control Valve: 11" x 17" black standard box with black locking cover as <br />manufactured by Ametek, Carson, or approved equal. Provide extensions as required. <br />Point of Connection Equipment: Ametek or Carson Jumbo Box or approved equal. <br />Provide sufficient boxes to enciose all equipment. <br />PROTE TIVE SLEEVE WITH LOCKING GAPS• <br />Two-inch diameter Class 200 PVC, length as required. Caps, RainBird #63100. All <br />drain valves to be enclosed in protective sleeves/ locking caps. <br />MISCELLANEOUS KEYS: <br />Provide 2 of each of the tollowing keys: manual drain cross-handle key, valve box cover <br />lock key, proteclive sleeve caps lock key. <br />DRAIN VALVES: <br />Manual Drain Valves: All bronze, non-rising stem, globe, or angle valve,100 psi rating. <br />Champion or approved equal. <br />Automatic Drain Vatves: Weathermatic #910, or approved equal. <br />88048 IRRIGATION 02441 - 5 <br />
