February 8, 2017 <br /> Moved by Council Member Murphy, seconded by Council Member <br /> Roberts, to consider the following amendments to a proposed <br /> ordinance: <br /> 1. to require TNCs to carry same insurance policy as taxicab <br /> companies when not carrying the passenger; <br /> 2. to update the language in Section 2.L., by striking the word <br /> "electronically" and inserting the word "digitally", which <br /> should read "Taximeter means a device by which the charge <br /> for hire of a taxicab is mechanically and/or digitally measured <br /> or calculated based upon a combination of mileage traveled <br /> and time elapsed"; <br /> 3. to fix a clerical error in Section 4.E., which should read "the <br /> for-hire license fee shall be $500 dollars after June 30 of each <br /> year," not July 31; <br /> 4. to insert the language "or if the taxicab company or TNC does <br /> not have a website" in Section 6.3. <br /> 5. to deny the proposed change to the language in Section 7.A. <br /> which increase the vehicle age requirement to 12 years; <br /> 6. to update the language in Section 12.C., by inserting the word <br /> "TNC", which should read "Following the one year revocation <br /> and consistent with this Ordinance, a taxicab company or TNC <br /> may obtain a for-hire license." <br /> Moved by Council Member Bader, seconded by Council Member <br /> Roberts, to consider the following amendment to the proposed <br /> ordinance: <br /> 1. to accept the proposed change to the language in Section 7.A. <br /> which increase the vehicle age requirement to 12 years; <br /> Council Member Moore asked staff to research placing mileage <br /> requirements on vehicles instead of age requirements. <br /> Katie Rathbun, Legal, stated she would look into it. <br /> 53 <br />
