Expenditure Required $ -0- Account Number(s): Amount Budgeted $ -0- Additional Required $ -0- DETAILED SUMMARY STATEMENT: The Department of Homeland Security,Office for Domestic Preparedness is providing funds to enhance the capability of state and local units of government to prevent, deter, respond to, and recover from incidents of terrorism involving the use of chemical, biological, radiological,nuclear, and explosive weapons and cyber attacks through FFY 2005 Homeland Security Grant Program, State Homeland Security Program. The funding of$71, 622 is being provided to continue wages for the current City Homeland Security Planner position into 2007. There are no local fund match requirements for this Grant. RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): The Council is requested to authorize the Mayor to accept and sign the contract with the Homeland Security Region One coordinating agency, Snohomish County Department of Emergency Management. The contract is for the provision of grant funds of$71,622 to continue the wages of the Homeland Security Planner position in the Fire Department for the City of Everett. 27
