Two hour occupancy separation is required between group 131 and group R1 occupancies. <br />Section 503(d) Exception 2. <br />8. Horizontal occupancy separation shall be supported with a structural system having <br />equivalent fire -resistive protection. Section 503(b). <br />9. Vertical occupancy separations shall extend through underfloor and attic areas, including <br />areas where fire -resistive ceilings are specified. <br />10. Parapet wall height and construction shall be not less than indicated in Section 1710. A <br />parapet is required on the west office portion adjacent to the property line. <br />11. Provide a smooth, hard, nonabsorbent surface on floors and walls of the toilet rooms <br />serving the office areas per Section 510(b). <br />12. Roof coverings are required to be Class C, Table No. 32-A. Details or specifications <br />complying with Section 3204 are required. <br />13. Provisions for roof drainage are required per Section 3207(b). Roof drains shall be sized <br />per the Uniform Plumbing Code, Appendix D, using a rainfall rate of 3 inches per hour. <br />The area behind the north wall parapet does not appear to meet these requirements. <br />14. Roofing drainage shall not flow over public property. Section 3207(e). <br />15. Skylights shall comply with Chapter 34. Plastic skylights are allowed only under the <br />conditions specified in Section 5207. <br />16. The second floor office area must have a second exit per Section 3303(a). <br />17. Exits are required to have a minimum separation of one-half the maximum diagonal of the <br />building or area served measured in a straight line between exits. Section 3303(c). <br />18. Handrails projecting from a wall must have a space of not less than 1 1/2 inches between <br />the wall and the handrail. Section 33060). <br />19. The handgrip portion of handrails shall be not less than 1 1/2 inches nor more than 2 <br />inches in cross sectional dimensions or the shape should provide an equivalent gripping <br />surface. The acceptability of equivalent shapes will be determined by the building <br />official. The handgrip portion shall have a smooth surface with no sharp comers. Section <br />3306(i). <br />20. Handrails must have their ends returned or terminate in newel posts or safety terminals. <br />Section 3306(i). <br />
